Regulation Board - Lay Chair (paid role)

The IFoA’s Regulation Board (RB) is responsible for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries' (IFoA’s) regulatory framework, our regulatory policy and strategy for all members irrespective of where they operate.  This underpins and supports the IFoA’s public interest function as set out in the Royal Charter.  We are looking to appoint a new Lay Chair for the RB, accountable to the Chair of the IFoA’s Management Board.

The IFoA’s Resource and Environment (R and E) Board is one of the seven Practice Boards with responsibility for a particular area of actuarial work.  The R and E Board focuses on sustainability issues, include climate change and resource depletion, and its remit includes promoting understanding of these long term risks by all IFoA members.

Artificial Intelligence and Automation Working Party - members, Deputy Chair and Chair

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries’ (IFoA’s) Life Research Sub-committee and Health & Care Research Sub-committee are jointly launching a new working party on Artificial Intelligence and Automation.  They are seeking up to ten volunteers to join this new working party, which is being established to explore the impact of AI and automation on the work of life and health and care actuaries. 

The working party will collaborate with and seek input from members of the IFoA’s Data Science Member Interest Group (MIG).

Non Executive Directors’ Member Interest Group Managing Committee - members

The Non-Executive Directors’ (NEDs’) member interest group (MIG) is a focus group for members and non-members holding NED roles or interested in pursuing NED opportunities.  Potential members can also hold governance roles such as being members of with-profit committees, however, the group’s objectives are tailored for the non-executive director role.  The main objective is to promote actuaries as valuable NEDs.  The MIG is looking to widen the reach of NEDs across practice areas, and includes organising events to stimulate sharing of ideas and discussion.
